ABest Privacy Policy

ABest (“the App”) provides theme asset management and automation tools (including uploading and duplicating theme files) (the “Service”) to merchants who use Shopify to power their stores. This Privacy Policy describes how personal information is collected, used, and shared when you install or use the App in connection with your Shopify-supported store.

Personal Information the App Collects

When you install the App, we are automatically able to access certain types of information from your Shopify account:

• Theme file access (theme file upload) (theme_files_upload) — used to upload or update theme assets/files at your request.

• Theme file access (theme file duplicate) (theme_files_duplicate) — used to duplicate theme assets/files at your request.

• Standard Shopify protected customer data access — used only when needed to support the Service features you enable (for example, to read customer-related data made available via Shopify’s protected customer endpoints, as permitted by Shopify and your granted scopes).

Additionally, we may collect the following types of personal information from you and/or your customers once you have installed the App:

• Merchant / account information: name, store name, business address, email address, and phone number (as available through Shopify or provided by you).

• App usage and technical data: information about how you and others interact with the App, including IP address, device and browser information, time zone, and diagnostic/log information.

• Customer information (only if required for enabled features): limited customer data retrieved from Shopify’s protected customer endpoints as permitted by Shopify and your permissions (for example, customer identifiers and related fields made available through those endpoints). We do not collect customer data unless it is necessary to provide the Service you use.

We collect personal information directly from the relevant individual, through your Shopify account, or using the following technologies:

• Cookies are data files that are placed on your device or computer and often include an anonymous unique identifier. For more information about cookies, and how to disable cookies, visit http://www.allaboutcookies.org.

• Log files track actions occurring in the App, and collect data including your IP address, browser type, Internet service provider, referring/exit pages, and date/time stamps.

• Web beacons, tags, and pixels are electronic files used to record information about how you browse the App and how the App performs.

How Do We Use Your Personal Information?

We use the personal information we collect from you and your customers in order to provide the Service and to operate the App. Additionally, we use this personal information to:

• Provide and maintain the Service, including uploading, updating, and duplicating theme files you instruct the App to manage.

• Authenticate and secure the App, including verifying access and preventing unauthorized use.

• Communicate with you, including support, notices, and service-related messages.

• Optimize or improve the App, including troubleshooting, analytics, and performance monitoring.

• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

We do not use customer personal information for targeted advertising or selling data.

Sharing Your Personal Information

We may share your personal information with third parties to help us provide and operate the App, such as:

• Shopify, as necessary to provide the Service through Shopify’s platform and APIs.

• Service providers who support the App’s operation (for example: cloud hosting, databases, monitoring/logging, and customer support tools), only to the extent necessary for them to perform services for us and subject to appropriate contractual safeguards.

Finally, we may also share your Personal Information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant, or other lawful request for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights.

Your Rights (European Residents)

If you are a European resident, you have the right to access personal information we hold about you and to ask that your personal information be corrected, updated, or deleted. If you would like to exercise this right, please contact us through the contact information below.

Additionally, if you are a European resident we note that we are processing your information in order to fulfill contracts we might have with you (for example, to provide the App’s services), or otherwise to pursue our legitimate business interests listed above. Additionally, please note that your information may be transferred outside of Europe, including to Canada and the United States, depending on where our service providers are located.

Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Typically:

• Merchant and App data is retained while your account is active.

• If you uninstall the App, we will delete or anonymize personal information within a reasonable period, unless we are required to retain it to comply with legal obligations or for legitimate business purposes (such as fraud prevention and security logging).

You may request deletion at any time by contacting us.

Changes

We may update this privacy policy from time to time in order to reflect, for example, changes to our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons.
